Machine Learned Cellular Phenotypes in Cardiomyopathy Predict Sudden Death

Albert J. Rogers et al.

Summary: This study developed computational phenotypes of patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy by analyzing ventricular monophasic action potentials using machine learning. The findings revealed novel phenotypes for predicting long-term outcomes and may provide insights into cellular mechanisms for clinical outcomes in ischemic cardiomyopathy and potentially other conditions.

Impact of a high-density grid catheter on long-term outcomes for structural heart disease ventricular tachycardia ablation

Riccardo Proietti et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates an incremental improvement in survival free from ICD therapies as mapping capability increases. By utilizing a high-density mapping catheter and combining complementary mapping strategies in a strict procedural workflow, long-term clinical outcomes are enhanced.

Electrical Substrate Ablation for Refractory Ventricular Fibrillation Results of the AVATAR Study

David E. Krummen et al.

Summary: After undergoing VF electrical substrate ablation, patients with refractory ventricular fibrillation showed a significantly higher freedom rate of the primary endpoint (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator shock, electrical storm, or all-cause mortality) at 83% during follow-up, compared to the reference group who did not undergo ablation treatment. Additional research is needed to further understand the pathophysiologic changes that contribute to VF for improved prevention and treatment strategies.

Summary: The study aims to investigate the role of automated ECG mapping and respiratory-gated therapy in SAbR treatment. Results demonstrate that this workflow can improve the ease and precision of treatment planning, and in some cases, help avoid gastrointestinal complications.
