Variable-Stage Cascaded Adaptive Filter Technique for Signal De-Noising Application

S. Hannah Pauline et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a multi-stage adaptive filtering model that automatically selects stages to minimize steady-state MSE and adjust the LMS adaptive filter's step size at each stage for faster convergence speed. This approach achieves high performance improvement at different input noise levels.

Design and Implementation of an Improved Variable Step-Size NLMS-Based Algorithm for Acoustic Noise Cancellation

Mohamed Salah et al.

Summary: In adaptive filters, variable step-size-based algorithms outperform traditional LMS and NLMS algorithms in terms of convergence speed, MSE, and SNR improvement. Recent research has focused on both performance measures of the algorithm and the required area, operating frequency, and power consumed after implementation. The R-SRAE-LMS algorithm has been demonstrated to have superior performance in acoustic noise cancellation compared to other variable step size algorithms through comparative study and detailed design.

Early diagnosis of Parkinson's disease based on non-motor symptoms: a descriptive and factor analysis

Harisudha Kuresan et al.

Summary: This study extracted parameters from a speech dataset to help detect PD, using a fusion model of DWT and MFCC. The analysis found that factor analysis resulted in higher accuracy (78.23%) compared to descriptive analysis (76.78%).

An improved parallel sub-filter adaptive noise canceler for the extraction of fetal ECG

Abel Jaba Deva Krupa et al.

Summary: Non-invasive extraction of fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) by processing the abdominal signals is presented in this paper. A two-stage improved non-linear adaptive filter for FECG extraction is proposed, with a focus on using an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and a parallel sub-filter (PSF) ANC to improve convergence performance. The proposed scheme achieves high sensitivity, accuracy, positive predictive value, and F1 score in evaluating FECG performance.
