Lattice dynamics, optical and thermal properties of quasi-two-dimensional anisotropic layered semimetal ZrTe2

Zahir Muhammad et al.

Summary: By utilizing Raman and infrared spectroscopy, this study investigated the vibrational properties of 2D layered zirconium ditelluride and the surface electronic and optical properties of bulk ZrTe2. The findings included temperature-dependent changes in vibrational modes, blue shifts with decreasing layer number, and the anisotropic nature of ZrTe2. Additionally, the potential application of ZrTe2 in thermoelectric devices was explored, showcasing its high thermal conductivity and promising characteristics for spintronic and tunable thermoelectric devices.
