Hollow Beaded Fe3C/N-Doped Carbon Fibers toward Broadband Microwave Absorption

Summary: In this study, hollow beaded Fe3C/N-doped carbon fibers (Fe3C/NCFs) were synthesized to achieve lightweight and broadband microwave absorption properties. The thermal treatment temperatures had a significant impact on the conductivity and electromagnetic properties of the materials. The samples showed the best absorption performance at a thermal treatment temperature of 750 degrees C. The excellent properties of the samples were attributed to the synergistic effect of impedance matching and strong electromagnetic energy attenuation abilities.

Highly efficient activation of peroxymonosulfate by MOF-derived CoP/CoOx heterostructured nanoparticles for the degradation of tetracycline

Summary: Introducing oxygen vacancies and enhancing charge transfer efficiency are effective strategies to improve the capability of catalysts in activating peroxymonosulfate. A reliable partial phosphidation method was used to synthesize CoP/CoOx nanoparticles with abundant oxygen vacancies and significantly enhanced charge transfer efficiency, leading to superior catalytic performance in tetracycline degradation. The synergy between oxygen vacancies and high charge transfer efficiency contributes to the excellent catalytic performance of CoP/CoOx in generating more active oxygen species.

Parallel-Orientation-Induced Strong Resonances Enable Ni Submicron-Wire Array: an Ultrathin and Ultralight Electromagnetic Wave Absorbing Material

Summary: This paper introduces a novel ultralight and ultrathin EMW absorber based on a parallel Ni wire array, and proposes an orientation-enhanced strategy to improve absorption performance. The study found that the parallel orientation of wires can enhance interfacial polarization, improve dielectric and magnetic losses, and enhance impedance matching. The parallel Ni wire array exhibits excellent EMW absorption and achieves the largest specific reflection loss among magnetic wire-based absorbers.

Summary: CoMn-MOF-74 precursors with rough surfaces are prepared by etching method, forming a large number of Co@C@MnO heterogeneous interfaces via calcination. The engineered microstructures of the precursors result in different numbers of heterogeneous interfaces in the Co@C@MnO nanorods, leading to excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance. Adjusting the etching time can tune the microstructure of the precursors, affecting the number of heterogeneous interfaces in the nanorods.
