TiO2 composite electrode materials for lithium batteries

Anna Pidluzhna

Summary: This study investigates the electrochemical behavior of lithium elements using composite electrodes made from nano TiO2, polypropylene as a binder material, and carbon black as a conductive additive. Material characterization was done using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The cyclic voltammetric tests were conducted to study the electrochemical behavior of nano TiO2 composite electrodes and the electrochemical properties of these electrodes were described.

Oxygen Vacancy Enhanced Two-Dimensional Lithium Titanate for Ultrafast and Long-Life Bifunctional Lithium Storage

Zhenjie Liu et al.

Summary: A two-dimensional LTO nanosheet with ultrafast charge storage oxygen vacancy was successfully fabricated to enhance Li+ ion mobility for high-rate lithium storage. Doping Al3+ into octahedron Li+/Ti4+ 16d sites not only provides stability to the Ti-O framework, but also lowers the energy barrier for Li+ ion diffusion, ultimately leading to excellent electrochemical performance.

Summary: Mixed ionic-electronic NASICON structured systems, LiTi2(PO4)(3-x)(VO4)(x) and Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)(3-x)(VO4)(x), have been prepared by partial substitution of V5+ for P5+ in LiTi2(PO4)(3) (LTP) and Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)(3) (LATP), respectively. Systematic investigation and experiments reveal good structural features and electronic conductivity properties in these systems.

Zr doping and carbon coating endow NaTi2(PO4)3 electrode with enhanced performances

Xinkuai He et al.

Summary: NaTi2(PO4)(3) shows promising prospects as an anode material in aqueous lithium ion batteries due to its good stability and open structure. The study utilized Zr doping and carbon coating strategies to enhance the electrochemical performance of NaTi2(PO4)(3) electrode, with NaTi1.9Zr0.1 (PO4)(3)/C (NC-Zr-10) demonstrating the most attractive properties. The improvement in performance is attributed to Zr doping facilitating Li ion intercalation/deintercalation and carbon coating promoting charge transfer within the electrode.
