Adsorptive performance of aminoterephthalic acid modified oxidized activated carbon for malachite green dye: mechanism, kinetic and thermodynamic studies

Abdullah Mohammed Aldawsari et al.

Summary: The study focused on the preparation and application of aminoterephthalic acid (ATPA) modified oxidized activated carbon (AC@ATPA) composite for the removal of malachite green (MG) from aqueous medium. The optimal conditions for maximum MG dye ions adsorption were identified, and the adsorption process followed Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-first-order kinetic model with a maximum adsorption capacity of 188.7 mg/g for MG.

Tailoring an efficient nanocomposite of activated carbon-layered double hydroxide for elimination of water-soluble dyes

Abdullah M. Aldawsari et al.

Summary: A potential nanocomposite of LDH nanoparticles and AC was synthesized for the removal of water-soluble dyes from wastewater. The LDH-AC composite showed superior affinity towards MB molecules with a maximum adsorption capacity of 816 mg/g at room temperature. The recyclability studies demonstrated a 70% efficiency for LDH-AC composite in MB adsorption after five cycles.

Mechanism of Cu2+ ions uptake process by synthetic NaA zeolite from aqueous solution: Characterization, Kinetic, intra-crystalline diffusion and thermodynamic studies

Nibou Djamel et al.

Summary: The study examined the removal of Cu2+ ions onto synthetic zeolite NaA from aqueous solution through batch experiments. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm was found to fit best, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 202.76 mg/g. The kinetic parameters were calculated and the pseudo-first order model was determined to have the best fit according to the Akaike's information criteria. Additionally, the diffusion coefficients of Cu2+ ions through the Zeolite NaA were investigated using a corrected function and weighting coefficient based on the semi-empirical Fick's law.

Application of response surface methodology for uranium(VI) adsorption using hydroxyapatite prepared from eggshells waste material: study of influencing factors and mechanism

Safir Ouassel et al.

Summary: HAp synthesized from biowaste hen eggshells showed great effectiveness in adsorbing uranium(VI), with pH being the most significant parameter affecting the adsorption. The Box-Behnken design combined with analysis of variance was effective in interpreting the main effects influencing the adsorption process.

Theoretical study and analytical performance of a lysozyme impedimetric microsensor based on a molecularly imprinted chitosan film

Fares Zouaoui et al.

Summary: A novel impedimetric microsensor for sensitive detection of lysozyme (LYS) was developed using chitosan based molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) combined with polypyrrole (PPy) conductive film. The microsensor showed high sensitivity, good selectivity, reproducibility, reusability, and the construction process was simple, providing a rapid and economical method for LYS detection. The microsensor was successfully applied in detecting LYS in fresh chicken-egg white samples.
