Utilization of the peroxidase-like activity of silver nanoparticles nanozyme on O-phenylenediamine/H2O2 system for fluorescence detection of mercury (II) ions

Mohamed A. Abdel-Lateef

Summary: Polyvinylpyrrolidone stabilized silver nanoparticles (PV-AgNPs) were synthesized using AgNO3/trisodium citrate and microwave energy and found to possess peroxidase-like activity. This activity was utilized to develop a cost-effective and selective spectrofluorimetric method for mercury (II) detection in water samples.

The phase behavior of n-ethylpyridinium tetrafluoroborate and sodium-based salts ATPS and its application in 2-chlorophenol extraction

Shuai Xu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS) containing [EPy]BF4, sodium-based salts, and water to extract 2-chlorophenol, demonstrating that the salt-outing ability of Na2CO3 is better than NaH2PO4. The results showed that [EPy]BF4 + Na2CO3 ATPS outperformed [EPy]BF4 + NaH2PO4 ATPS in applications for extracting phenolic compounds.

Nickel-Platinum Nanoparticles as Peroxidase Mimics with a Record High Catalytic Efficiency

Zheng Xi et al.

Summary: Nickel-platinum nanoparticles (Ni-Pt NPs) are highly efficient mimics of peroxidase with a record high catalytic efficiency, achieving catalytic constants significantly higher than conventional Pt nanoparticles and natural peroxidases. The unique surface structure weakens the adsorption of key intermediates during catalysis, leading to boosted catalytic efficiency. Ni-Pt NPs have been successfully applied in immunoassays with ultralow detection limits.

Efficient sensing of saccharin through interference synthesis of gum ghatti capped silver nanoparticles

Shehala et al.

Summary: The presence of saccharin (SH) was efficiently detected through the interference synthesis of gum ghatti (GG) capped silver nanoparticles (GGAgNps), with the detection further enhanced by combo capping with chitosan (Ch). The method successfully detected SH in commercially available real juice samples.
