Analysis of the compressibility of edible powders under low pressure

Changpu Shen et al.

Summary: Proper compression of edible powder is beneficial for both the powder itself and industrial production, but the specific influence of factors such as particle size distribution, moisture content, and static friction angle on powder compressibility is not yet clear. This study used uniaxial confined compression experiments to investigate the effects of these factors on powder compressibility, finding that powder volume increases logarithmically with pressure, higher moisture content results in greater void content and poorer fluidity, and larger particle size distribution leads to better fluidity. Additionally, the static friction angle between powder and container affects compressibility to a small extent.

Experimental study on the alumina fine powder internal compression characteristics under gas pressurization

Shicheng Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that the pressurization rate affects the compression characteristics of powder beds, with different positions in the beds exhibiting different compression characteristics and the compression ratio increasing with bed depth. A prediction model for relative compaction density variation was established based on the research results.

Interplays between particle shape and particle breakage in confined continuous crushing of granular media

Fan Zhu et al.

Summary: This computational study explores the interactive evolution of particle shape and particle breakage for granular material under confined compression. The findings demonstrate that particle shape significantly influences particle strength and crushing pattern, with sphericity playing a key role in determining these factors.
