Oscillatory dissipative solitons stabilized by nonlinear gradient terms: The transition to localized spatiotemporal disorder

Orazio Descalzi et al.

Summary: In this study, the properties of oscillatory dissipative solitons (DSs) in a cubic complex Ginzburg-Landau equation stabilized by nonlinear gradient terms are investigated. The main finding is the transition to dissipative solitons with spatiotemporal disorder, which occurs as a function of the diffusion coefficient. This transition proceeds via quasiperiodicity and is accompanied by the emergence of incommensurate satellites next to the fundamental frequency and its harmonics, suggesting a possible route to localized spatiotemporal chaos. The transition back to oscillatory DSs follows a similar scenario.

Interaction of dissipative solitons stabilized by nonlinear gradient terms

Orazio Descalzi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the interaction of stable dissipative solitons of the cubic complex Ginzburg-Landau equation stabilized by nonlinear gradient terms, finding seven possible outcomes and a linear relationship between oscillation amplitude and period for solitons with large amplitudes. Comparisons with other equations show specific characteristics for the coupled cubic complex Ginzburg-Landau equations with a stabilizing cubic nonlinear gradient term.

Influence of stimulated Raman scattering on Kerr domain walls and localized structures

P. Parra-Rivas et al.

Summary: This study investigates the formation of bright and dark localized states in all-fiber resonators subject to stimulated Raman scattering under coherent optical injection. The Raman scattering breaks the reflection symmetry of the system and modifies the dynamics, stability, and locking of domain walls. This leads to the formation of both dark and bright moving localized states that are otherwise absent.
