Determination of the bulk fraction of spherical non-uniformities in high-density materials

D. Yu Kosyanov et al.

Summary: This paper conducts a thorough comparative analysis of different models for assessing the porosity of materials, focusing on a geometrical perspective. The obtained results can be applied to other types of inclusions within the studied volume, and a table of parameters is provided for comparing various assessment methods. The evaluated difference in outcomes of different methods applied can be as high as 40%, based on a specific composite ceramic phosphor model.

Microstructure and thermoelectric properties of Sr0.9La0.1TiO3/TiO2 biphase composite ceramics

Zhihao Lou et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of reduced Sr0.9La0.1TiO3/TiO2 biphase composite ceramics were prepared via the solid-state reaction method to enhance the thermoelectric performance. The addition of TiO2 improved carrier mobility and concentration while decreasing thermal conductivity, leading to a higher power factor and ZT value. This strategy may broaden the operating temperature range of SrTiO3-based oxide thermoelectric materials.
