Impact of defect migration on electrical and dielectric properties in molten salt synthesized CaCu3Ti4O12 and customizing the properties by compositional engineering with Mg doping

Bhoomika Yadav et al.

Summary: In this study, the effect of extrinsic and intrinsic point defects on the conductivity and dielectric behavior of CCTO synthesized using the molten salt method was investigated. It was found that extrinsic defects migration caused dielectric loss at low temperatures, while long-range conduction due to intrinsic defects accumulation resulted in higher losses at high temperatures. By doping Mg into CCTO, the loss was reduced and an almost temperature-independent dielectric constant was achieved.

Summary: Ceramics-based filter for water treatment is an ancient technology that can provide potable water at the household level. The ceramic material CCTO is a hetero-junction of titanium oxide and copper oxide, which has excellent photocatalytic properties. It overcomes the limitations of other commonly used materials and has potential applications in photoelectrochemical and photocatalytic processes.

Exploring the electrical behavior of iodine substituted CaCu3Ti4O12-xIx by impedance and modulus spectroscopy

Bhoomika Yadav et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of iodine substitution on the dielectric and resistive properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 ceramics. The results show that the grains, grain boundaries, and sample-electrode interface contribute to the electrical response, which can be represented by three equivalent circuits. Iodine doping leads to a large increase in resistance and changes the charge compensation mechanism. The study confirms the successful synthesis of iodine-substituted CCTO ceramics.
