Summary: Efficient microwave absorption properties have been achieved by optimizing impedance matching and attenuation capability of dandelion-like C@NCO, with almost full band absorption achieved by regulating the matching thickness. The balance of impedance matching and attenuation capability is attributed to the morphological engineering from nanoneedles to nanosheets, where the introduction of magnetic component and conical nanoneedle antenna structure improve the impedance matching and enhance the attenuation of electromagnetic waves through the synergistic effect of magnetic loss and strong dielectric loss. This study provides a new idea for the design of efficient wave-absorbing materials with controlled morphology.

Etching engineering and electrostatic self-assembly of N-doped MXene/hollow Co-ZIF hybrids for high-performance microwave absorbers

Improved synergistic effect for achieving ultrathin microwave absorber of 1D Co nanochains/2D carbide MXene nanocomposite

The MXene/Co nanochains composites achieved a minimum reflection loss of -46.48 dB with an ultrathin matching thickness of only 1.02 mm at 16.75 GHz, with the absorption mechanism involving conductive loss, polarization loss, magnetic loss, and interlacing magnetic flux field effect.
