iGluK-Deep: computational identification of lysine glutarylation sites using deep neural networks with general pseudo amino acid compositions

Sheraz Naseer et al.

Summary: Lysine glutarylation is a post-translational modification that plays an important regulatory role in cellular functions. This study proposes a computational prediction approach using deep neural networks and Chou's Pseudo Amino Acid Composition for predicting lysine glutarylation sites, achieving good performance without the need for costly feature extraction processes.

ProtTrans-Glutar: Incorporating Features From Pre-trained Transformer-Based Models for Predicting Glutarylation Sites

Fatma Indriani et al.

Summary: In this study, we propose a computational model called ProtTrans-Glutar to rapidly identify lysine glutarylation. Our model combines traditional sequence-based features with features derived from a pre-trained transformer-based protein model and uses random under-sampling and XGBoost classification method for prediction. The model achieves high recall and AUC scores on an independent test set, indicating its potential for identifying new glutarylation sites.
