Mortality Outcome of Emergency Decompressive Craniectomy and Craniotomy in the Management of Acute Subdural Hematoma: A National Data Analysis

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the in-hospital mortality of acute subdural hematoma patients who underwent emergency decompressive craniectomy or craniotomy within 4 hours of hospital arrival. The analysis showed differences in age, mechanism of injury, and injury severity between the two procedure groups, but after matching analyses, no significant impact on overall mortality was found.
