Dolabellane Diterpenoids from the Xisha Soft Coral Clavularia viridis

Yuan Gao et al.

Summary: Twelve new members of the dolabellane family and three related diterpenoids were isolated from the Xisha soft coral. Their structures were determined using spectroscopic analysis, Mosher's method, and X-ray diffraction analysis. Some compounds exhibited cytotoxicity against cell lines and one compound showed inhibitory activity against protein tyrosine phosphatases 1B.

Polyoxygenated Cembranoids from Soft Coral Lobophytum Crassum and Their Anti-tumoral Activities

Fang-Zhou Yin et al.

Summary: Four new cembranoids and eight known compounds were isolated from the South China Sea soft coral Lobophytum crassum. The structures and absolute stereochemistry were determined using extensive spectroscopic analysis and other methods. Some of the compounds showed significant anti-tumoral activity against different tumor cell lines, with a discussion on the structure-activity relationship.
