Y Reducing the Solvent Quality Gives Rise to the Outward Migration of a Star Polymer in Poiseuille Flow

Bo Peng et al.

Summary: A hybrid simulation technique was used to investigate the conformation and migration of star polymers in Poiseuille flow under various solvent conditions. The results showed that the solvent quality could regulate the migration behavior of the star polymer in the flow field. The flow field analysis indicated a hydrodynamic force balance mechanism between shear gradient induced lift force and the polymer-boundary repulsion.

Rotational dynamics and transition mechanisms of surface-adsorbed proteins

Shuai Zhang et al.

Summary: This study directly observes and quantifies the rotational dynamics of protein nanorods on solid-water interfaces using high-speed atomic force microscopy and machine learning techniques. The findings reveal the characteristics of transitions between different angular states and provide insights into the self-assembly and other orientationally anisotropic outcomes of biomolecules at these interfaces.

Tracking of Nanoparticle Diffusion at a Liquid-Liquid Interface Adsorbed by Nonionic Surfactants

Yuehua Zhao et al.

Summary: This study investigated the lateral diffusion of individual hydrophobic nanoparticles at hexane-glycerol interfaces adsorbed by different amounts of nonionic surfactants using single-particle fluorescence tracking. Results showed that above a certain surfactant concentration threshold, the nanoparticle diffusion displayed a two-regime behavior involving short-time Brownian and the emergence of subdiffusive, non-Gaussian, and dynamically anticorrelated diffusion in the long lag time regime. These findings offer insight into the synergistic effect for the surfactant-assistant Pickering emulsion.
