Effect of Membrane Potential on Entry of Lactoferricin B-Derived 6-Residue Antimicrobial Peptide into Single Escherichia coli Cells and Lipid Vesicles

Farzana Hossain et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of membrane potential on the action of AMP Rh-LfcinB(4-9). The results showed that at low peptide concentrations, Rh-LfcinB(4-9) could enter bacterial cells without damaging the cell membrane, and the membrane potential Dw enhanced its antimicrobial activity.
