Data Release 2 of S-PLUS: Accurate template-fitting based photometry covering ∼1000 deg2 in 12 optical filters

F. Almeida-Fernandes et al.

Summary: This paper presents the second data release (DR2) of the ongoing Southern Photometric Local Universe Survey (S-PLUS), which covers an area of 950 deg(2). The data has been fully calibrated using a new photometric calibration technique, and the photometric zero-points (ZPs) have been refined by comparing the template-predicted and instrumental magnitudes. The paper also describes the complete data flow of S-PLUS/DR2 and provides a brief characterization of the data.

The miniJPAS survey: Identification and characterization of galaxy populations with the J-PAS photometric system

R. M. Gonzalez Delgado et al.

Summary: The Javalambre-Physics of the Accelerating Universe Astrophysical Survey (J-PAS) aims to derive stellar population properties of galaxies using spectral energy distributions (SEDs) to study galaxy evolution. By analyzing miniJPAS galaxies with different SED-fitting codes, consistent results on galaxy properties were generally found, regardless of spectral type or redshift.

Mixture models for photometric redshifts

Zoe Ansari et al.

Summary: This study aimed to resolve model degeneracies and separate intrinsic physical properties of astrophysical sources from extrinsic systematics using mixture density networks. The method demonstrated competitive performance in producing full probability distributions for photo-z estimates and can be applied to wide-field surveys with varying extinction levels.

The miniJPAS survey: Photometric redshift catalogue

A. Hernan-Caballero et al.

Summary: MiniJPAS is an imaging survey conducted to demonstrate the scientific potential of the upcoming J-PAS Survey by accurately measuring photometric redshifts, which can be applied to new techniques such as measuring baryonic acoustic oscillations. The survey covers a wide range of wavelengths and uses a combination of narrow-band and broad-band filters to achieve high accuracy in redshift measurements.
