Effects of loading regimes on the structural behavior of RC beam-column sub-assemblages against disproportionate collapse

Summary: This study investigated the effects of two loading regimes on the behavior of RC frames, finding that the conventional concentrated loading regime accurately estimated the yield strength and compressive arch action capacity, but may overestimate the catenary action capacity and deformation capacity. Analytical models were proposed based on failure modes and strain gauge results to predict the compressive arch action capacity, showing good prediction accuracy.

A Novel Structure-Pulse Coupled Model for Quantifying the Column Ductility Demand under Pulse-Like GMs

The Gaussian function is used to describe the column ductility demand curve, revealing significant influence of V-p on the curve's height and positioning. The model accurately predicts seismic demands under pulse-like ground motions and identifies response regularity, such as the shift in peak center position with increasing V-p.

A precast beam-column joint using an innovative friction damper as a connector: Experimental and numerical study

Summary: This paper proposes an innovative friction damper (FD) as a connector to improve the quality of beam-column connection in precast concrete frames. Experimental tests and numerical analysis were conducted to investigate the hysteretic behavior and failure patterns of the FD. The results show that the FD can effectively protect the beam-column joint from earthquake damage and has excellent energy dissipation ability.
