Strong coupling of quantum emitters and the exciton polariton in MoS2 nanodisks

Feng-Zhou Ji et al.

Summary: Exciton polaritons, formed by light and excitons in semiconductors, have the potential to be used as a quantum bus for quantum interconnect devices at room temperature. However, the damping effect of polaritons usually leads to a loss of quantum information. By studying the coupling between quantum emitters and polaritons in a nanodisk, researchers have found that a persistent quantum correlation between the emitters can be generated and stabilized, even in the presence of damping effects.

Spontaneous emission of a quantum emitter near a graphene nanodisk under strong light-matter coupling

Ioannis Thanopulos et al.

Summary: The study reveals that under strong coupling between the quantum emitter and the graphene nanodisk, the excited-state probability exhibits Rabi oscillations and population trapping effects. High values of non-Markovianity and quantum speedup measures are achieved when the emitter-nanodisk interaction is strong, while decreasing coupling strength leads to smaller values.

Enhanced Photon-Emitter Coupling in Micro/Nano Photonic Structures

Qi Zhang et al.

Summary: The strong confined electromagnetic field in micro/nano photonic structures provides new opportunities for studying the interaction between light and matter, enabling reversible or irreversible energy exchange between photons and emitters at the micro/nano scale by designing optical modes. Recent advances in strong coupling based on micro/nano photonic structures will have significant impact on the research of quantum nanophotonics and on-chip quantum devices.

Strong coupling regime and bound states in the continuum between a quantum emitter and phonon-polariton modes

Vasilios Karanikolas et al.

Summary: The population dynamics of a two-level quantum emitter (QE) near a hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) layer were investigated in this study. It was found that the relaxation rate of the QE is significantly enhanced when resonant with the phonon-polariton bands of the h-BN layer, leading to reversible dynamics and potential formation of bound states. Such bound states in the continuum are crucial for designing practical future quantum applications.
