Muhammad Irfan et al.

Summary: This research investigated the electronic, optical, and thermoelectric properties of chalcogenide materials SrCdSnX4 (X = S, Se, Te) using first-principles calculations based on DFT. The study revealed that SrCdSnTe4 displayed better absorption in the visible range, while the other two materials performed well in the ultraviolet region. The results also showed an anisotropy polarization of all compounds, making them suitable for optoelectronic device applications.

Structural, morphological, and linear/non-linear optical properties tuning in Ag60-xSe40Tex films by thermal annealing for optoelectronics

S. Das et al.

Summary: The effect of annealing on Ag60-xSe40Tex thin films was studied, and it was found that annealing caused changes in the structure, surface morphology, and optical properties of the films. The formation of saturated bonds during annealing influenced various optical parameters, such as an increase in the extinction coefficient and a decrease in the optical bandgap. This study is of importance for optoelectronic and solar cell applications.

Manal M. Alkhamisi et al.

Summary: Due to the increasing interest and development of multifunctional electronics, the need for a stable and unique multifunctional platform has become a major research concern. In this study, amorphous Ge2Sb2Te5 (a-GST) thin films were used for photo/thermodetection applications. The structural, compositional, and topographical analysis confirmed the amorphous nature of the films, and the optical properties revealed broad absorption spectrum. The switchable resistivity properties and phase change transition were also evaluated, and the heterojunction showed good thermo-detection capability and photodetection performance.
