A nine-coordinated bismuth(III) Schiff-base complex: Design, synthesis, computational studies, and antimicrobial activity

Yan-Hua Lei et al.

Summary: A new bismuth(III) Schiff-base complex was synthesized and characterized by various methods, showing the strongest inhibition effect among three compounds in terms of antimicrobial activity. The experimental and theoretical vibrational bands were discussed, along with obtaining thermokinetic parameters. The complex exhibited the highest inhibition effect.

Green synthesis and microcalorimetric study of a novel N-alkylation Schiff base and its bismuth(III) complex

Xu Li et al.

Summary: A new N-alkylation Schiff base and its bismuth(III) complex were successfully synthesized using a solid-phase microwave green synthesis method. The antibacterial activity of the bismuth(III) complex was found to be stronger than that of the ligand, and molecular docking simulations showed that the bismuth(III) complex bound at the hydrophobic cavity of the substructure domain IIB of bovine serum albumin.
