Temperature dependence of Fano resonances in CrPS4

Maurizio Riesner et al.

Summary: This study investigates the temperature dependence of Fano resonances observed in photoluminescence from flakes of layered semiconductor antiferromagnet chromium thiophosphate (CrPS4). Two Fano resonances with different temperature dependencies are identified. The continuous background responsible for the resonances is attributed to the d-d transition of the optically active Cr3+ center, while the interfering discrete states are suggested to arise from localized atomic phosphorus.

Near-infrared plasmonic sensing and digital metasurface via double Fano resonances

Xiaofeng Xu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the application of near-infrared plasmonic DFRs in a hybrid metasurface through numerical and theoretical approaches. The research demonstrates that plasmonic sensing can be achieved by modulating the polarization orientation and geometric parameters of the unit cells, resulting in resonance mode-broadening and mode-shifting. Additionally, the study shows the realization of a high ON/OFF ratio plasmonic switch and digital metasurface with plasmonic DFRs. These findings are significant for polarization-sensitive optical sensing, passive optical switches, and programmable metasurface devices.

Realization of absorption, filtering, and sensing in a single metamaterial structure combined with functional materials

Qin-Yin Feng et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a hybrid vanadium dioxide (VO2)-graphene-based bifunctional metamaterial, utilizing the insulator-metal phase transition of VO2 and the dynamic tuning of absorption and transmission rates by the Fermi energy level of graphene. The metamaterial structure can act as a filter providing three adjustable passbands in the insulating state, and a double-band absorber in the metal state.
