MV-LV network-secure bidding optimisation of an aggregator of prosumers in real-time energy and reserve markets

Jose Iria et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new bidding optimization strategy for aggregators of prosumers to make network-secure bidding decisions in real-time energy and reserve markets, addressing challenges that aggregator actions may cause voltage and congestion problems in distribution networks. Experiment results show that the proposed strategy outperforms existing strategies, achieving fast execution times and maximizing DER value in network-constrained scenarios.

Optimal Local Volt/Var Control for Photovoltaic Inverters in Active Distribution Networks

Xianzhuo Sun et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a real-time combined central and local Volt/Var control strategy to mitigate voltage violation problems in active distribution networks. By using historical data, a novel 3-Dimension voltage control curve and a data-driven deep convolution neural network are applied to optimize voltage control curves without prior knowledge of specific curve functions. Simulation results on the IEEE 33-bus distribution system confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approach in voltage control compared with traditional methods.

Fair coordination of distributed energy resources with Volt-Var control and PV curtailment

Daniel Gebbran et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a novel distributed optimal power flow (DOPF) method for fair DER coordination, addressing concerns of unfair curtailment of PV generation. The method considers both technical efficiency and equitable distribution of PV curtailment among prosumers. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.

Decentralized Control Strategy to Improve Fairness in Active Power Curtailment of PV Inverters in Low-Voltage Distribution Networks

Yasin Zabihinia Gerdroodbari et al.

Summary: A novel decentralized control strategy is proposed in this paper to improve fairness in the curtailed active power of inverters by calculating the ratio of voltage change to injected power and sharing the calculated value, thus adjusting the control parameters of PV inverters. This method significantly enhances the fairness of active power curtailment among inverters and is evaluated through simulation studies on the IEEE European low-voltage test feeder with varying levels of PV system integration.
