Comprehensive Assessment of a Coupled LiBr/H2O AbsorptionRefrigeration/ORC System for Low-Grade Residual Heat RecoveryBased on Advanced Exergy and Exergoeconomic Analysis

Tian Zhou et al.

Summary: In this study, a coupled LiBr/H2O cycle/ORC system is comprehensively assessed for low-grade residual heat recovery based on advanced exergy and exergoeconomic analysis. The results show that a significant amount of irreversibility rates, irreversibility cost rates, and investment cost rates can be eliminated from the system. The ORC evaporator and LiBr absorber are identified as critical components with high irreversibility rates and investment cost rates, respectively. The advanced exergoeconomic analysis reveals that a large portion of the investment cost is generated by the components themselves, and optimizing methods are provided to decrease system irreversibility.

Optimal capacity configuration of CCHP system with improved operation strategies using improved multi-objective multi-universe algorithm

Chao Fu et al.

Summary: This study establishes a multi-objective capacity optimization model for a combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) system to determine the optimal configuration scheme for various strategies. New energy flow management strategies are developed to effectively reduce fuel consumption and improve system energy efficiency. An improved multi-objective multi-verse optimization (IMOMVO) algorithm is proposed to optimize the system configuration under different strategies. The results show that the proposed algorithm provides evenly distributed Pareto solutions and the system configuration under the improved following-the-electric-load (IFEL) strategy outperforms other strategies in terms of energy efficiency, carbon-dioxide emission reductions, primary energy saving, and annual cost saving.
