Reward timing matters in motor learning

Pierre Vassiliadis et al.

Summary: The study reveals that reward timing influences the dynamics and consolidation of motor learning, with short reward delays leading to continuous performance improvements and long delays initially high learning rates but lower performance later on. Participants with long reward delays also showed reduced overnight memory consolidation.

Donkey behaviour and cognition: A literature review

Marta De Santis et al.

Summary: Despite the widespread distribution of donkeys worldwide, much of their behavior and cognitive abilities remain poorly understood and overshadowed by common beliefs. This review aims to investigate scientific literature on donkey behavior and cognition, as well as the behavioral tests used to explore these topics, in hopes of improving human respect for their welfare.

Judgement Bias in Miniature Donkeys: Conditioning Factors and Personality Links

Maria Pinto et al.

Summary: Optimism and pessimism can impact individuals' perception of their environment, with personality traits potentially shaping how they interpret new stimuli. This study on Miniature Donkeys found intrinsic individual differences in judgement bias and a correlation between patience and pessimism. Understanding these mechanisms may help improve routine handling practices in the context of animal welfare.
