Long-Lived Organic Room-Temperature Phosphorescence fromAmorphous Polymer Systems

Jingjing Guo et al.

Summary: Long-lived organic room-temperature phosphorescence materials have great potential applications in various fields. Compared to traditional fluorescence, phosphorescence originates from slow radiative transitions of triplet excitons. Enhancing intersystem crossing rate and suppressing nonradiative relaxation channels can achieve efficient phosphorescence in purely organic materials. Amorphous organic polymers offer improved processability and flexibility, making them more competitive for achieving long-lived phosphorescence emission.

Amplified Circularly Polarized Electroluminescence Behavior Triggered by Helical Nanofibers from Chiral Co-assembly Polymers

Zhongxing Geng et al.

Summary: In this study, two chiral binaphthyl polymers with different dihedral angles were used as chiral inducers to construct chiral co-assemblies with an achiral dye. The resulting ordered helical nano-fibers exhibited enhanced circularly polarized electroluminescence performance. The amplified chirality and high performance were attributed to the strong pi-pi stacking interaction between the chiral polymers and the achiral dye.

Cross-Linked Polyphosphazene Nanospheres Boosting Long-LivedOrganic Room-Temperature Phosphorescence

Yongfeng Zhang et al.

Summary: This study reports that cross-linked polyphosphazene nanospheres can effectively promote long-lived organic room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP). Through molecular engineering, introducing multiple functional groups greatly enhances the spin-orbit coupling constant, thereby improving the phosphorescence performance. Encapsulating the polyphosphazene nanospheres with a poly(vinyl alcohol) matrix further improves the phosphorescence lifetime, efficiency, afterglow duration time, and absolute luminance, and can be used for detecting volatile organic compounds.
