Aging in psoriasis vulgaris: female patients are epigenetically older than healthy controls

Pavel Borsky et al.

Summary: The study did not find evidence that psoriasis causes accelerated aging, but did find that the epigenetic age difference in female patients was significantly higher and correlated with endocan and vascular endothelial growth factor. This suggests potential unique pathophysiological processes in female psoriatic patients.
