Central Vein Sign Profile of Newly Developing Lesions in Multiple Sclerosis A 3-Year Longitudinal Study

Omar Al-Louzi et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the CVS profiles of new white matter lesions in patients with MS over time and identified demographic and clinical risk factors associated with new CVS+ or CVS- lesion development. We found that most newly developing lesions in MS patients were CVS+ and caution is needed when determining the CVS status of gadolinium-enhancing lesions.

Leptin levels are associated with multiple sclerosis risk

Martin Bistrom et al.

Summary: This study found that a 1-unit leptin z-score increase was associated with an increased risk of MS among individuals younger than 20 years and all men, while for women aged 30-39 years, increased leptin levels were associated with a lower risk of MS when adjusting for insulin levels.

The central vein sign in multiple sclerosis patients with vascular comorbidities

Francois Guisset et al.

Summary: This study investigated the association between various vascular risk factors (VRFs) and the percentage of central vein sign (CVS) positive lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. The results showed that older age and arterial hypertension were associated with a lower percentage of CVS positive lesions in MS.
