Methanol-to-olefins catalysis on ERI-type molecular sieves: towards enhancing ethylene selectivity

Faisal H. Alshafei et al.

Summary: ERI-type molecular sieves with varying Si/Al and Si/T-atom ratios showed improved performance in the methanol-to-olefins reaction. They exhibited higher ethylene-to-propylene ratios compared to other zeolites, while SAPO-17 samples had a higher C-4+ fraction. The differences in product distributions were attributed to the slower maturation of aromatic hydrocarbon-pool species and the presence of aromatics with bulky alkyl-groups in SAPO-17 samples.

Synergistically enhance confined diffusion by continuum intersecting channels in zeolites

Zhiqiang Liu et al.

Summary: In zeolite SCM-15, the unique system of continuum intersecting channels plays a key role in the diffusion process of p-xylene, with different effects on diffusion along different directions as molecular uptake increases. This mechanism synergistically improves diffusion in zeolites with continuum intersecting channels.

Connecting theory and simulation with experiment for the study of diffusion in nanoporous solids

Brandon C. Bukowski et al.

Summary: Nanoporous solids are essential for chemical, energy, and environmental processes, with a variety of materials such as crystalline microporous zeotypes, metal-organic frameworks, and mesoporous and hierarchically structured materials playing crucial roles. Molecular simulation techniques combined with experimental measurements have been successful in studying diffusion processes within nanoporous solids. Future developments and experimental techniques are needed for more accurate predictions in complex systems.
