Sulfur-vacancy rich nonstoichiometric TiS2-x/NiS heterostructures for superior universal hydrogen evolution

The presence of sulfur vacancies regulates the electronic structure of active sites, leading to reduced energy barrier for water dissociation and optimized adsorption free energy for H* intermediates. This strategy provides a new way to design high-performance and cost-effective HER electrocatalysts in universal media.
