Maternal lifestyle and nutritional habits are associated with oocyte quality and ICSI clinical outcomes

Amanda Souza Setti et al.

Summary: Maternal lifestyle factors, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, refined sugar, and artificial sweeteners, have a significant impact on the incidence of oocyte dimorphisms and outcomes of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles. These habits are positively associated with oocyte dimorphisms and negatively associated with ovarian stimulation response, embryo development, clinical pregnancy rates, and live birth rates. The associations are dose-dependent.
