Giant anomalous Hall and anomalous Nernst conductivities in antiperovskites and their tunability via magnetic fields

Harish K. Singh et al.

Summary: The anomalous Hall conductivity (AHC) and anomalous Nernst conductivity (ANC) in ferromagnetic antiperovskites were evaluated and found to exhibit giant conductivity. The giant ANC was attributed to the presence of Weyl nodes near the Fermi energy, and the magnitude and sign of both AHC and ANC could be controlled by changing the magnetization direction, which is significant for spin-caloritronics devices.

Spin excitations and spin wave gap in the ferromagnetic Weyl semimetal Co3Sn2S2

Chang Liu et al.

Summary: A comprehensive neutron scattering study on the spin excitations in the magnetic Weyl semimetal Co3Sn2S2 reveals complex spin dynamics, including in-plane and out-of-plane dispersions of spin waves in different states, as well as a spin wave gap. Effective exchange interactions were estimated using a semi-classical Heisenberg model, indicating a large spin stiffness and significant contribution from Weyl fermions in this three-dimensional correlated system.

Unusual Exchange Couplings and Intermediate Temperature Weyl State in Co3Sn2S2

Qiang Zhang et al.

Summary: The study of magnetic Weyl semimetal Co3Sn2S2 reveals its highly anisotropic magnetic properties and the presence of Weyl points in different temperature regions. Using density functional theory calculations, it is shown that the important role of the 120-degree antiferromagnetic order in supporting Weyl points in the intermediate temperature region.

Multifunctional antiperovskites driven by strong magnetostructural coupling

Harish K. Singh et al.

Summary: Through density functional theory calculations, the origin of multifunctional properties for cubic antiperovskites with noncollinear magnetic ground states was elucidated, attributed to strong isotropic and anisotropic magnetostructural coupling. Out of 54 stable magnetic antiperovskites, 14 exhibit antiferromagnetic magnetic configurations driven by frustrated exchange coupling and strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy.

Exchange interactions and magnetic force theorem

I. Solovyev

Summary: This article critically reexamines the interatomic exchange interactions in the framework of cSDFT, and discusses the impacts of spin rotations on total energy change. Differences between magnetic force theorem and exact theory in describing the relation between exchange interactions and response function have significant consequences for various materials. The study emphasizes the importance of considering ligand spins and selecting appropriate variables for describing spin rotations within cSDFT theory.
