Intimate relationships among actinomycetes and mycolic acid-containing bacteria

Manami Kato et al.

Summary: This study explores the interaction between a naturally co-isolated pair of actinomycetes and MACB. The experiment demonstrates that the actinomycetes and MACB can co-aggregate in liquid culture and exhibit metabolic changes. Additionally, actinomycetes and MACB with co-aggregation characteristics were also found in soil.

Effects of carbon ion beam-induced mutagenesis for the screening of RED production-deficient mutants of Streptomyces coelicolor JCM4020

Masaomi Yanagisawa et al.

Summary: In this study, carbon ion beam-induced mutagenesis was used to screen for RED production-deficient mutants of Streptomyces coelicolor. Through genome resequencing and gene complementation experiments, it was found that gltB and fusA genes were responsible for the reduced production of RED.
