Exploring the migration and transformation of lattice oxygen during chemical looping with NiFe2O4 oxygen carrier

Zhen Huang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the release-uptake paths of lattice oxygen and chemical reaction laws at the interface of an oxygen carrier using composite metal oxide. The results show that the chemical reaction interface is located on the surface of the oxygen carrier particles, with concentration gradient driving the transmission of lattice oxygen for reduction or oxidation of the oxygen carrier. Additionally, the formation process of hydroxyl ions in the oxygen carrier was confirmed by in-situ XPS analysis.

Effects of zeolite molecular sieve on the hydrocarbon adsorbent and diffusion performance of gasoline engine during cold start

Lehan Chen et al.

Summary: The adsorption characteristic and diffusion properties of MOR, MFI, and CON zeolites used in hydrocarbon catcher were studied in this work. Numerical simulation results showed that CON zeolite has the best adsorption performance for benzene component, while MFI zeolite performs better for ethylene component. The study also revealed that high temperature has a significant impact on the adsorption capacity of zeolites.

Perovskite-type LaMn1-xBxO3+δ (B = Fe, CO and Ni) as oxygen carriers for chemical looping steam methane reforming

Xianglei Yin et al.

Summary: The doping of Fe, Co and Ni can improve the oxygen release rate of LaMnO3+delta, with the enhancement effect being the best for Ni. The substitution of Fe, Co and Ni can increase the oxygen release amount, CO selectivity and hydrogen yield. LaMn0.7Fe0.3O3+delta and LaMn0.8Co0.2O3+delta could be used as desirable oxygen carriers for cyclic CLSMR.

On the optimization of physical and chemical stability of a Cu/Al2O3 impregnated oxygen carrier for chemical looping combustion

M. T. Izquierdo et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the stability of a CuO/Al2O3 impregnated oxygen carrier during methane chemical looping combustion at high oxygen carrier to fuel ratios. The research found that low oxygen carrier conversion variation reduced copper loss from particles, but reoxidizing the oxygen carrier at high temperatures was difficult due to the formation of CuAlO2. Operating at temperatures around 800 degrees C with low solid conversion variation is recommended to limit copper loss while maintaining physical stability.

The use of strontium ferrite perovskite as an oxygen carrier in the chemical looping epoxidation of ethylene

S. Gabra et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that by controlling the structure of oxygen carriers based on strontium ferrite, the yield of chemical looping epoxidation reaction can be significantly increased. Samples with a specific ratio of SrFeO3 and RP phase mixed exhibit optimal performance, leading to a 4-fold increase in yield.

Co and Mo Co-doped Fe2O3 for Selective Ethylene Production via Chemical Looping Oxidative Dehydrogenation

Xin Tian et al.

Summary: This study investigates Co and/or Mo doped Fe2O3 as redox catalysts for ODH of ethane, showing different ethane conversion and ethylene selectivity based on the molar ratio of Co/(Co + Mo). Tuning the molar ratio can achieve high ethylene selectivity at 56.2% ethane conversion, with Co playing a role in activity and H-2 combustion capability, and Mo affecting ethylene selectivity.
