Fabrication of superhydrophobic-icephobic carbon cloth using polydimethylsiloxane for oil-water separation

Summary: This study reports a simple and single step method for coating polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) onto carbon cloth, resulting in a superhydrophobic and icephobic surface. By controlling the PDMS loading, the superhydrophilic carbon cloth was successfully converted into a superhydrophobic sample, which was utilized for oil/water separation and prevention of surface freezing.
