Aerodynamics Effect of Holes in UAV Wings Modified for VTOL Capability

Laith S. Sawaqed et al.

Summary: This research explores the possibility of modifying the X8 Skywalker from a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle into a convertiplane. Computational fluid dynamics and wind tunnel experiments were conducted to analyze the performance of different wing configurations. The results indicate that the proposed modifications can generate enough lift despite reducing the wing area, with the filleted hole configuration demonstrating less drag and turbulence effects at low angles of attack.

Mass media and communication interventions to increase HIV testing among gay and other men who have sex with men: Social marketing and visual design component analysis

Julie Riddell et al.

Summary: This study highlights the role of mass media and communication interventions in increasing HIV testing among GBMSM. Effective interventions tended to use multiple modes of delivery with high social marketing complexity, emphasizing the importance of social marketing and visual design principles in the development process. Identifiable design features such as the use of specific imagery and text were common across interventions, but the evidence of their effectiveness remains unclear.

Testing literature-based health experience insight cards in a healthcare service co-design workshop

Clare Villalba et al.

Summary: Literature is transformed into accessible and creative format to be used in co-design of healthcare through the Health Experience Insight Cards. Two groups of participants used the cards in a storytelling activity, leading to different types of interactions and variations between groups. The cards triggered discussions and enabled sharing of health experiences among participants in the co-design workshop.

A qualitative examination of affect and ideology within mass media interventions to increase HIV testing with gay men garnered from a systematic review

Darren Langdridge et al.

Summary: Increasing appropriate HIV testing among men who have sex with men (MSM) is crucial to HIV prevention. Mass media interventions are effective in promoting testing, but there has been little examination of their active content. This study examines the affective and ideological aspects of intervention content for the first time, providing a potentially more useful evidence base for future interventions.
