Investigation of Clostridium perfringens in small-scale commercial broiler flocks in Mymensingh district of Bangladesh

Summary: A survey in Mymensingh district of Bangladesh showed a 10.3% prevalence of C. perfringens in small-scale commercial broiler farms, with litter swabs being the most contaminated sample type. History of coccidia infection was significantly associated with C. perfringens infection.

Phenotypic detection and genotyping of Clostridium perfringens associated with enterotoxemia in sheep in the Qassim Region of Saudi Arabia

Summary: This study aimed to isolate and determine the prevalent toxinotype of C. perfringens from suspected cases of sheep enterotoxemia in the Qassim Region, Saudi Arabia. The results revealed that only 15% of the cases were confirmed to be caused by C. perfringens infection, with type D toxinotype being the only one found in the region in 2020. The study highlights the importance of clinical and laboratory differential diagnosis of enterotoxemia in sheep.
