A clash of constructs? Re-examining grit in light of academic buoyancy and future time perspective

Summary: The study found that grit is a significant predictor of student success and persistence, positively predicting undergraduate GPA independent of other motivational factors. Gender differences were observed in future time perspective, and Asian American students reported lower grit compared to White and Hispanic students, despite achieving higher GPAs.

Summary: The study found that the relationship between teachers and students significantly influences students' achievement emotions in mathematics and literacy, with student temperament also playing a role in this relationship. In the literacy domain, conflicts in teacher-student relationships were strongly correlated with students' enjoyment, while in the mathematics domain, the relationship between self-concepts of ability and achievement emotions was stronger.
