Effectiveness and trend forecasting of tuberculosis diagnosis after the introduction of GeneXpert in a city in south-eastern Brazil

Thais Zamboni Berra et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the effectiveness of a rapid molecular test for the detection of tuberculosis in a municipality in Brazil. The results showed decreasing trends in TB and HIV co-infection, general and lung TB, and extrapulmonary TB. Changes in the structure of TB cases were identified through breakpoint analysis. Predictions were made for the future incidence of TB in the region.
