The Association between Loneliness, Mental Well-Being, and Self-Esteem among Adolescents in Four Nordic Countries

Summary: This study examined loneliness and positive mental health indicators in adolescents in four Nordic countries, finding that Finnish and Icelandic adolescents had the highest levels of loneliness, while Danish and Swedish adolescents had the highest levels of mental well-being and self-esteem. Boys tended to score higher on positive mental health indicators, while girls scored higher on loneliness.

Sense of Unity and Self-Reported Health Among 15-year-Olds: Findings From the Swedish 2017/18 Health Behavior in School-Aged Children Study

Summary: The study found that adolescents overall reported high levels of sense of unity, with no significant differences by gender. Adolescents with higher family affluence and those without an immigrant background reported higher levels of sense of unity. This suggests that sense of unity may play an important role in adolescent health.
