The influence of ageism on stereotypical attitudes among allied health students in Japan: a group comparison design

Summary: This study surveyed ageism among 154 allied health students in Japan, finding that ageism is not only directed towards elderly adults but also towards individuals outside this group. Results showed that students with high levels of ageism tended to evaluate the drawer as more timid in the control condition, and more negligent in comparison to the low ageism group.

Associations between Facets and Aspects of Big Five Personality and Affective Disorders:A Systematic Review and Best Evidence Synthesis

Summary: Most facets of neuroticism are positively associated with affective disorders, while positive emotion in extroversion and competence and self-discipline in conscientiousness are negatively associated. The study also found specific personality traits such as trust and actions have different impacts on anxiety disorders. At the aspect level, withdrawal in neuroticism is positively associated with MDD, while industriousness in conscientiousness is negatively associated. Future research is needed to investigate mediating pathways between personality facets and affective disorders.
