Surfactant-Confined Synthesis of CoMoS Catalysts Using Polyoxometalate Precursors for Superior Fuel Hydrodesulfurization

Tingting Huang et al.

Summary: The proposed novel surfactant-confined preparation method using polyoxometalates as precursors has been shown to enhance the catalytic activity of CoMo/Al2O3 catalysts for hydrodesulfurization and fluid catalytic cracking of diesel fuel by promoting the generation of reduced-size MoS2 phases with a high dispersion degree and improved stacking. The as-prepared catalysts have a higher concentration of accessible active sites compared to traditional impregnation and hydrothermal synthesis methods, leading to superior catalytic performance.
