Ultrahigh carrier mobility of penta-graphene: A first-principle study

Jyotirmoy Deb et al.

Summary: By exploring the intrinsic charge carrier mobility of penta-graphene using density functional theory and effective mass approximation, along with the deformation potential theory, it is found that this material exhibits significantly high electron mobility compared to other novel two-dimensional materials. The low effective mass, low deformation potential, and high stiffness constant contribute to its high carrier mobility. The wide band gap and ultrahigh carrier mobility of penta-graphene suggest potential applications in the fabrication of microelectronic and optoelectronic devices.
