Synergistic effects of g-C3N4 three-dimensional inverse opals and Ag modification toward high-efficiency photocatalytic H2 evolution

Yanping Liu et al.

Summary: This study improved the production yield and uniformity of g-C3N4 inverse opal (CN IO) nanostructure through a sandwich sintering strategy, and further investigated the formation mechanism and photocatalytic performance of silver-modified CN IO (Ag-CN IO) nanocomposites. The results show that Ag-CN IO exhibits the best H-2 evolution performance, attributed to the Ag nanoparticles and IO structure synergistically improving light absorption and charge transfer.

Controllable Approach to Carbon-Deficient and Oxygen-Doped Graphitic Carbon Nitride: Robust Photocatalyst Against Recalcitrant Organic Pollutants and the Mechanism Insight

Xinyue Wang et al.

Summary: This study developed a self-modification strategy to prepare carbon-deficient and oxygen-doped g-C3N4 catalyst, which showed high efficiency in photocatalytic removal of p-nitrophenol and atrazine. The mechanism behind this efficiency is the synergistic effect of carbon vacancies and oxygen doping sites in generating abundant active oxygen species.

A dual strategy for synthesizing carbon/defect comodified polymeric carbon nitride porous nanotubes with boosted photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and synchronous contaminant degradation

Tingting Huo et al.

Summary: The study successfully synthesized carbon/defect co-modified PCN porous nanotubes using a dual strategy, enhancing surface area and photoabsorption, leading to improved photocatalytic hydrogen evolution efficiency. The introduced carbon and defects in cd-PCN exhibited significantly higher H-2 evolution rates, enabling simultaneous photocatalytic water splitting and contaminant degradation under visible light irradiation.
