Synthesis and Application of Cobalt Oxide (Co3O4)-Impregnated Olive Stones Biochar for the Removal of Rifampicin and Tigecycline: Multivariate Controlled Performance

Ahmed S. El-Shafie et al.

Summary: Cobalt oxide nanoparticles supported on olive stone biochar were used for the efficient sorption of rifampicin and tigecycline from wastewater. The adsorbent exhibited a large surface area and high pore-volume, leading to high adsorption efficiency. The Langmuir model perfectly described the adsorption of rifampicin, while the Freundlich model was suitable for tigecycline. The pseudo-second order model best represented the adsorption kinetics of both drugs.

Surjatapa Nath et al.

Summary: In this study, a donor-acceptor substituted aromatic system was synthesized, and the photophysics of its intramolecular charge transfer process was investigated using various spectroscopic techniques and density functional theory calculations. The experimental results showed efficient charge transfer in the excited state, and the addition of acid and changes in pH affected the steady state spectral properties. Quantum chemical calculations further supported the excited state intramolecular charge transfer process.

Hosam A. Saad et al.

Summary: The study investigated the capacity of Sulpiride to generate charge-transfer (CT) complexes with five different acceptor molecules. Stable CT complexes were formed at specific ratios with each acceptor, independent of the state of the starting materials. Characterization of the chemical structure and interaction mechanism of the synthesized CT complexes was done using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and CHNS elemental measurements.

Spectroscopic and DFT studies of the charge transfer complexation of iodine with aniline and its derivatives in carbon tetrachloride medium

Sharifur Rahman et al.

Summary: The charge-transfer complex formation of iodine with aniline and derivatives of aniline in CCl4 was investigated using UV-Visible spectroscopy and density functional theory (DFT) methods. The formation constant (K-CT) of the CT complexation was determined. The results showed that the K-CT values of CT complexes varied with temperature and the structure of the donor molecules. Thermodynamic parameters indicated the spontaneous nature of CT complexation and the involvement of hydrophobic and exothermic interactions.

Pawan Shah et al.

Summary: This paper reports a room temperature UV-VIS study on the interaction between methyl red dye and sodium dodecyl sulfate/methanol/ethanol/water systems. The results show that the interaction between methyl red dye and specific components in the solvent leads to changes in the spectrum peak values. The calculated binding constants and distribution constants indicate that this interaction is spontaneous.
