The Faddeev-LeVerrier algorithm and the Pfaffian

Christian Baer

Summary: The Faddeev-LeVerrier algorithm is adapted for computing the Pfaffian of a skew-symmetric matrix, resulting in a simple and parallelizable algorithm with computational cost O(n(beta+1)). Comparison with other algorithms is made, and its application in computing the Euler form of a Riemannian manifold using computer algebra is demonstrated.

Surface states and quasiparticle interference in Bernal and rhombohedral graphite with and without trigonal warping

Vardan Kaladzhyan et al.

Summary: The authors used an exact analytical technique to study the surface Green's functions of Bernal and rhombohedral graphite, finding different surface state spectral functions and lifetimes of quasiparticles. They also investigated the effects of impurity scattering on the quasiparticle interference patterns generated on the surface of graphite, comparing their predictions to experimental STM data.

Transport and spectral properties of magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene junctions based on local orbital models

M. Alvarado et al.

Summary: This study theoretically addresses the electronic properties of junctions defined electrostatically on twisted bilayer graphene using lattice models and Green's function techniques. The analysis reveals the impact of symmetry breaking perturbations on bulk bands and the sensitivity of structural orientation on the resulting features in spectral and transport properties. The hybridization of chiral edge states on these junctions leads to distinct signatures in longitudinal transport and local densities of states.
