Unsaturated Hydraulic Conductivity Prediction Using Artificial Intelligence and Multiple Linear Regression Models in Biochar Amended Sandy Clay Loam Soil

Oluwaseun Temitope Faloye et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the relationship between moisture content and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity (K(q)) in biochar amended soil, and to predict K(q) using multiple linear regression (MLR), artificial neural network (ANN) and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), as well as to evaluate their performances. The results showed a decrease in measured K(q) as moisture content increased in biochar amended soil, and ANN outperformed ANFIS and MLR in predicting K(q).

Scientific Machine Learning Through Physics-Informed Neural Networks: Where we are and What's Next

Salvatore Cuomo et al.

Summary: Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINN) are a type of neural network that incorporates model equations, such as partial differential equations, as a component. PINNs have been used to solve various types of equations, including fractional equations and stochastic partial differential equations. Current research focuses on optimizing PINN through different aspects, such as activation functions, gradient optimization techniques, neural network structures, and loss function structures. Despite the demonstrated feasibility of PINN in certain cases compared to traditional numerical techniques, there are still unresolved theoretical issues.

An optimal sample selection-based logistic regression model of slope physical resistance against rainfall-induced landslide

Sun Deliang et al.

Summary: This study aims to develop a mapping model for disaster resistance of rainfall-induced landslide in mountain slopes. By utilizing data mining of historical slope damage records and conditioning factors, an optimal training sample was selected and a logistic regression model was obtained, leading to the classification of five disaster resistance classes. This assessment model shows high stability and reliability in evaluating mountain slope disaster resistance against rainfall-induced landslides.
