Cerebral superb microvascular imaging in preterm neonates: in vivo evaluation of thalamic, striatal, and extrastriatal angioarchitecture

A. Barletta et al.

Summary: The study found that visibility of superficial vessels increased with gestational age in preterm neonates (P < 0.05 for both cortical and medullary), while striatal and thalamic vessels were visible in all neonates. Additionally, significant differences in sex, birth weight, and Apgar score within 1 min after birth were observed among GA groups.

Contrast-enhanced ultrasound: a comprehensive review of safety in children

Aikaterini Ntoulia et al.

Summary: Research has shown that adverse reactions in pediatric CEUS use are mainly non-serious, with a very small number of children experiencing allergic reactions. In studies involving intravenous CEUS, the rate of serious adverse events is low, while the rate of non-serious adverse events is slightly higher. Adverse events caused by the use of UCA in the bladder are mostly related to bladder catheters rather than the UCA itself.
