Impact of Cognitive Reserve and Premorbid IQ on Cognitive and Functional Status in Older Outpatients

Maria C. Quattropani et al.

Summary: The study found that cognitive reserve and premorbid IQ were associated with cognitive and functional status in older outpatients and were linked to cognitive worsening. Integrating CR and premorbid IQ with physical and motor measures is necessary when evaluating predictors of cognitive decline in the elderly. This study also extends the connection of CR and premorbid IQ to functional status in older adults.
